Glanzmann Thrombasthenia (GT) is an autosomal recessive defect in the GPIIb/IIIa (GP2b/3a) receptor on the platelet which leads to defective platelet aggregation. Ristocetin Cofactor Assay (RIPA) is usually abnormal in cases of Bernard-Soulier Syndrome (BSS).
