I turned a Power Washer Into a Mini Bike

I spent the better part of my childhood trying (and failing) to make my own go-karts and other motor powered vehicles using any and everything (which wasn’t much) available to me. One of my first priorities as I cobbled together a tool-kit of my own as an adult was to finally realize my childhood dream of making a motor powered… something. So, when I found a power washer and a kid’s bike in the neighbor’s trash pile, five year old me got VERY excited. I’d just scored an ancient welder on Craigslist and went right to work using a hacksaw and a lot of head scratching to combine the bike and washer to make a frame onto which I could mount the motor. Later, I salvaged some brake parts from an electric scooter I also found in the trash. This was actually one of my very first multimedia projects as I started setting up my “make everything” shop in Seattle after moving from Taiwan. This project has gone through a ton of different iterations. Combining that power washer frame to the bicycle frame was my very first welding project and nothing about it was pretty, but I was able to cobble together a basically working vehicle as time went on. I turned a power washer into a minibike. When I moved to Nashville, this bike needed to undergo a new iteration. We stretched the frame of the minibike, added a racing slick tire, and re-calibrated the brakes I'd harvested from the electric scooter I found in the trash. Dumpster diving and junkyard digs have never produced a cooler mini bike! Will it run? Heck yes! Swapping a predator 212 motor from harbor freight with the power washer motor got this cheap mini bike up and running.
