If your Kohler engine uses excessive amount of oil and/or oil leaks from oil seals, or gaskets ? Then you have a problem. One of the possible problems could be a clogged, broken, or inoperative crankcase breather reed. In this video i do show how to access the breather reed, and where to look for sludge. Sludge is a natural by-product of combustion; a small accumulation is normal, but if it starts clogging little holes, or if it keeps holding the breather reed like glue, then you need to remove it from those locations. Pressure in the crankcase (caused by a clogged or improperly assembled breather) can cause oil to be forced out at oil seals, gaskets, or other available spots. There is also a chance for it to be broken. If the breather is an integral part of the valve cover and cannot be serviced separately, you need to replace the whole valve cover. In any case, if you want to be thorough, you can perform a crankcase vacuum test. I am going to show that in a separate video /watch/ot-asenSZ-cSa . Don't forget to subscribe, like and share!
