CS Kariuki says govrnment is ready to reconstruct Malewa Dam

Water Cabinet secretary Sicily Kariuki says the government is ready for fresh negotiations on the controversial 35 billion shillings Malewa Dam which is meant to serve water to the new Industrial Park in Mai Mahiu and Naivasha towns. The Ministry of Water and Sanitation has termed the dam as critical to the country’s economy and future supply of water to the two towns. Elsewhere, two pedestrians were killed Monday afternoon along the Nairobi- Namanga road near Athi-river town in a grisly road accident.
