Olivia Jade & Val Dance To 'Coco' On Dancing with the Stars Disney Villains Night

Hey guys welcome back to another DWTS Update, I have the latest on what went down during last night’s Disney villains themed episode, but First off, did you guys like heroes night or villains night better!? They were both so good and entertaining, but i personally loved hero night. Regardless, last night’s episode was still great and even had a double elimination so let’s get right into it. Olivia Jade and Val danced a jazz piece to “remember me” from the movie Coco as ernesto de la cruz, and it was dedicated to hispanic heritage month! Their skeleton makeup made them look like they were taken right out of the movie! And their costumes plus the lighting were very accurate as well. Although the dance was cute and fun, the judges said it wasn’t her best performance and Carrie Ann even said it felt like olivia was holding back a bit because they’ve seen her do way more But Derek applauded her for being such a natural, and said he couldn’t believe she never danced before They also said not only can olivia dance, but she’s a great actress! Her facial expressions were really on point during this dance Nonetheless, they scored a 35/40, keeping them toward the top of the leaderboard How did you guys like this dance? I love the movie coco, so this was definitely one of my favorites! But a lot of people weren’t too happy with it! Many viewers are criticizing the dance for not having any dancing in it at all One person commented “I really was let down with this number it could have been so wonderful but instead of jazz it was some awkward musical theater expression pantomime piece.” And another said “The judges don’t take jazz seriously , and that was not jazz is more free style, but it was fun” Now, we can’t blame Olivia for this considering that her partner Val is the one choreographing the dances Olivia still executed it well As a dancer myself though, i do agree with what people are saying! As well done as this dance was, there were almost no jazz elements to it whatsoever I’m honestly surprised that the judges didn’t pick up on this But what did you guys think? I know not everyone watching this show has a dance background and knowledge of technical things when it comes to judging a dance, but if the couples are prompted with a certain style of dance whether it be jazz, salsa, foxtrot, or whatever..they have to actually do certain dance moves that only pertain to the dance they’ve been assigned! But, Olivia’s killing it with her execution, and i have a feeling she’s here to stay! That’s all I have for you guys until next week’s Grease themed episode!
