The Arab heritage preserves a story for each folklore song, specifically in the Levant, that is, in Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan. أقام هذا الشاب في قرية كان غريباً عنها، وكان يعمل نجّاراً عند شخص يدعى أبو حسن، الذي كان يعطيه أجره كل أسبوع ولكن لم يكن يعلم ماذا يفعل بالمال، وأجمع أهل القرية أنه كان ذا خلق ولا يرفع عينه باتجاه امرأة، رغم أن فتيات القرية كنّ يحاولن التقرّب منه، حتى أن زوجة مختار القرية طلبت منه أن يصنع لها خزانة كي تلفت نظره لابنتها، وزوجة خطيب المسجد صنعت عنده صندوقا خشبيا للملابس وحدّثته عن ابنتها، وحتى الخطيب لمّح إلى الموضوع في خطبة الجمعة من دون فائدة، لأن "ظريف الطول" لا تعنيه هذه الأمور. تحكي الرواية أنه في يوم من الأيام هجمت إحدى العصابات الصهيونيّة على القرية واستشهد ثلاثة شبّان، وفي اليوم الثاني، غادر "ظريف الطول" القرية وعاد بعد أربعة أيام ليلاً دون أن يراه أحد، حتى عادت العصابات بعد شهر لتقتحم القرية، حينها قام "ظريف الطول" بتوزيع خمس بنادق على الشبّان كان قد اشتراها من ماله الخاص، وتم قتل ستة أشخاص من العصابات، وفي اليوم التالي، باعت النسوة ما يملكن من مجوهرات وذهب لشراء البنادق بثمنها، وعند عودة العصابات للأخذ بالثأر، اندلعت معركة كبيرة في كروم التفّاح واستشهد عدد كبير من أبناء القرية، وفي الوقت نفسه سقط عدد كبير من أفراد العصابات، وعندما قام أهل القرية بجمع جثث الشهداء، لم يجدوا "ظريف الطول" بينهم ولم يكن بين الأحياء واختفى، وأجمع أهل القرية على أنه قاتل بشراسة وقتل أكثر من 20 شخصاً من أفراد العصابات وأنقذ بعض شبان القرية، لكنه لم يظهر بعد المعركة. ومرّت الأيام وصار "ظريف الطول" أغنية القرية: يا ظريف الطول وين رايح تروح.. بقلب بلادنا تعبّقت الجروح، يا ظريف الطول وقف تاقولك.. رايح عالغربة فلسطين أحسنلك. الحكاية تقول: "بعد سنوات عدّة يقال إنه تمت مشاهدة ظريف الطول مع الثوار في يافا، والعديد من الناس حلفوا بأنهم شاهدوه مع جمال عبدالناصر في بورسعيد، وآخرون شاهدوه في غزة، ومنهم من قال إنه كان في بيروت إبان اجتياح 1982، ليتضح أن ظريف الطول هو كل مقاوم فلسطيني، وبقيت الأغنية تُردّد حتى يومنا هذا بكلمات تختلف ما بين أغنية وأخرى". هذه عيّنة من القصص التي حوّلت الحكايات الشعبية والوقائع والأحداث الوطنية إلى أغان تراثية ارتبطت بشكل مباشر بثقافة فلسطين، أو غيرها من الدول العربية. ويحتفظ التراث العربي بقصة لكل أغنية من أغاني الفولكلور، تحديداً في بلاد الشام، أي في سورية وفلسطين ولبنان والأردن #zarif_al_tool اغنية ظريف الطول /watch/gcQkZqeLV-BLk
