He has been adopted by one of the detectives, has new brothers and sisters and id="hidden11" class="buttons"> has changed his last name. As far as him saying he missed his dad, I just think he's a good, nice kid and said what was polite. I feel like his dad opening up like that, asking how he was doing and saying he missed him, was just another form of his manipulation. Because he knew his son is a good kid and would have a similar response to what he had. That, to me, is seriously just another thing that shows the kid is better off without the "father".
