Shooting Star POV

So, the coaster community was aware of some late 1940s Shooting Star footage. The film "Greetings from Coney Island" had some film segments that were well known around the coaster community. However there had been some other pieces of film that had been floating around in news reports, and contemporary news pieces. Using the various sources, one can fully understand how wild this coaster really was! Facts Name: Shooting Star Opened: 1947 Closed: September 6th, 1971 Designed by: Herb Schmeck Manufactured by: Philadelphia Toboggan Company Height: 88 feet Top Speed: Approximately 43mph Length: 2,950 feet Miscellaneous: The ride utilized the loading station, lift and final helix of the old Clipper coaster. The Mighty Canadian Minebuster at Canada`s Wonderland outside of Toronto, Canada opened in 1981. The ride is a mirror image of the Shooting Star and loosely based on the original Shooting Star from Coney.
