@Drummer-qm2ttمنذ 3 سنوات Perhaps the person asking the question is also not an English speaker, and just wondering for themselves why someone in the same position as then would id="hidden2" class="buttons"> want a job where you constantly need to communicate in English. Maybe, maybe not. ....وسعت 2131

@user-oy7hf9lo6pمنذ 3 سنوات I love how he’s angry but is treating tomatoes with respect 22
  • @
@iambored4896منذ 3 سنوات That’s a good question, customer service requires a lot of speaking and if you don’t speak English it is not a good idea to have the job. 525
  • @
@doriftokun3296منذ 3 سنوات As a non English native speaker, english is very easy to understand, but the pronunciation is really hard, that's why i always choose back of the house or cleaning lol 3
  • @
@joecorrell7589منذ 3 سنوات I feel the same way but if they don't speak english at all how is the customer suppose to understand them when ordering? 206
  • @
@CristosAnesti312منذ 3 سنوات He wasn’t making fun of her Milad, it’s a valid question 215
  • @
@misan2002منذ 3 سنوات I mean, it's important to be able to speak the language if you're in a job where you need to communicate, i don't think they had any ill intentions with that comment 170
  • @
@8epic819منذ 3 سنوات Here before the video finished processing, keep up the content 5
  • @
@londoman1312منذ 3 سنوات I agree we are in a land with equal opportunity but hiring someone who can’t speak English very well at a fast food chain isn’t the smartest 38
  • @
@MarkyMark15منذ 3 سنوات He wasn't making fun of her, it was a question, that kinda makes sense 356
  • @
@TyVerteمنذ 3 سنوات Are you going to cover the new Subway menu July 13? 37
  • @
@popularvlogaming2887منذ 3 سنوات I do agree though, getting a job is fine, but one that relies heavily on communication when you can’t communicate , it’s like a learner driver getting a job as a delivery driver before passing their test 11
  • @
@mendisuarez1595منذ 3 سنوات Right on. The only way to learn is to put yourself out there. I commend that! It's difficult enough to be a new hire that has to also learn English at the same time. ❤✌ 1
  • @
    @astrayagrarianمنذ 3 سنوات Cringe take.
Sure USA is the land of opportunity, however if you come here and let’s say you plan on living/working here you better bet your ass you ought to learn English.
You can’t just expect someone to move to, let’s say Japan, and expect the population to conform to one individual instead of the individual conforming to the rest of the society’s norms.

@mgth7812منذ 3 سنوات It is good for equality and all and no one should be denied a job. But communication is important for that job so you could understand your customer. Hope she is studying well 6
  • @
@MCBandit-منذ 3 سنوات I agree with that persons comment and it seems like a lot of people do too. It’s just common sense 23
  • @
@infamoose1758منذ 3 سنوات It’s just the requirement for that specific job unless you want to point the entire time 74
  • @
@bford98541منذ 3 سنوات Emphasized the full paying job, yet gives minimum wage 10
  • @
@_Adieمنذ 3 سنوات Yeah, that's very sensible and logical. If you can give someone a job, there's no reason not to do it. However, doesn't this job require you id="hidden9" class="buttons"> to be communicative to some extent? If that's a problem, then. you know. It's not "why would you hire someone who doesn't speak English" it's "why would you hire someone who doesn't speak English for this job specifically."
Unless there's no alternatives, it just seems like it'd be frustrating for both the customer and the worker.
EDIT: Please don't turn it into something it was never meant to be. I'm not here to argue or throw insults, I'm just asking a question. If there's an answer, just accept it and move on, nbd.

    @dudeyouarecuckieمنذ 3 سنوات Mate, I don't think he's making fun of her. 4
  • @
@DeathBringer769منذ 3 سنوات If your job involves speaking to the customer/end-user and communication, you should probably speak the language. There's nothing discriminatory about id="hidden10" class="buttons"> that. It's like expecting applicants for a chemistry lab job to understand chemistry. You still have equal opportunity, as long as you have the requisite skill-set. ....وسعت 194

  • @
@ChipChapChopمنذ 3 سنوات I used to go to this Subway in a RaceTrac gas station and the lady there was sweet but she could barely speak English and it was just frustrating for both id="hidden11" class="buttons"> of us. You're not being compassionate by putting your employees or customers in that position. ....وسعت 197

  • @
@teresalarsen4279منذ 3 سنوات Thank you for saying this, some people just don't get that others may not have learned English.
  • @
@NoamTubeمنذ 3 سنوات The ability to communicate with others is a basic requirement. It will keep mistakes from happening and thus losing product and money. Speaking a common id="hidden12" class="buttons"> language so everyone can understand each other isn't a lot to ask for. ....وسعت 29
  • @
@nothing-kn3tcمنذ 3 سنوات Completely agree, however whenever i go to a dine in restaurant and the server doesn’t speak english very well, it makes ordering and everything like that a bit more harder. I always feel like she or he won’t understand what i’m saying. ....وسعت 6
  • @
@Nathan-dg9jvمنذ 3 سنوات They’re so right though. You can’t work a job in say customer support if you don’t know English. 2
  • @
@YEDxYEDمنذ 3 سنوات I’m gonna be that guy…We also all have the same opportunity to learn English.
If I went to France, I couldn’t be upset if someone got frustrated with me for not being able to speak French.

  • @
@froggyhops7184منذ 3 سنوات I love the clean smooth cut with the tomatoes
  • @
@jameseames9289منذ 3 سنوات I think having a good grasp of the language is important due to health and safety; if a waiter didn't understand that you have an allergy, you could id="hidden15" class="buttons"> die. It depends on the job ofc, some jobs don't require any communication aside from training so minimal knowledge of the language is acceptable. ....وسعت 1
  • @
@magicbananas3منذ 3 سنوات Man some of these comments… Everyone has gotta start somewhere. Clearly the employee probably knew/understood basic English enough to get a job at a fast food restaurant. 24
  • @
@janlovesmany6058منذ 3 سنوات It's not making fun of them. It's about your customers have a right to be able to be understood when placing their orders!!
I think subway lost a fan here.

  • @
@bellavita1323منذ 3 سنوات I agree and I also want a tomato slicer just like that one!!!
  • @
@pastamaneمنذ 3 سنوات I do think it’s a perfectly logical question. Think the person asking the question is just genuinely asking and not throwing shade. I would definitely want my employees to speak decent English or take lessons while they’re in training. I wouldn’t completely turn someone away for not being able to speak English very well. But that’s just me. ....وسعت 57
  • @
@capper6100منذ 3 سنوات 1: Not making fun of them
2: They never said they shouldn’t have that opportunity. They just said that it doesn’t make sense to choose a communication related job when you know your communication isn’t very good. That’s a pretty simple concept that has validity. ....وسعت

@Headshot-Userمنذ 3 سنوات Hiring a new guy/girl that doesn't know much english but can speak spanish or another language very well is a very nice bonus because you will find id="hidden20" class="buttons"> a customer that doesn't speak english and will speak in another language which usually would be spanish and will be hard to communicate which won't be a problem no more because the person you hired will make it a lot easier by communicating in their language with no problem ....وسعت 1

@nickpatton3199منذ 3 سنوات It's dumb to get frustrated with that question. that's like saying that someone that doesn't swim well and wants to join the coast guard id="hidden24" class="buttons"> should have equal oppprtunity. It's not wrong to require a certain level of skill or ability in any area for a job you're being paid to do. ....وسعت 38

@EagleScout2019منذ 3 سنوات I’ve in retail and fast food with bad anxiety and yet I do just fine.
And I work with a lot of people who don’t speak English that well, but they understand it enough to help people out, and it really helps when the customer doesn’t speak English well because then they can both speak in Spanish (the 2nd most common language in my area)
Also the nicest fast food employee I’ve ever seen couldn’t speak English very well, she never messed up my order, and everytime I would show up she recognized me (I was a sort of regular cause it was next to my college)

@LilT2o00منذ 3 سنوات That's a broad statement. You said "no matter who" i have no argument against someone who doesn't speak English very well getting a job id="hidden26" class="buttons"> but your statement reaches further than that. Love your videos
  • @
@ali94hnمنذ 3 سنوات I agree and all, but I would hate to have to repeat myself 87 times and speak like a child for the cashier to understand me. If you can't speak English, id="hidden34" class="buttons"> get a different type of full paying job, that doesn't require too much speaking. Delivery guy, taxi driver, office worker (as long as you understand the task, no need to speak with others if you can't)
But hey, if you can understand me well, but just can't speak too well and your accent and pronunciation still needs some work, then by all means, work wherever, it's good for your learning process and customers are understanding. But please never work in retail if you can't understand the customers.

@PeterKarunratneمنذ 3 سنوات My issue with people who cannot speak English is that they have made the decision to enter that country. I have worked in environments where the majority id="hidden38" class="buttons"> of staff were Polish and all but one of them could speak perfectly fine English but one could not speak a word. They would often speak in Polish throughout work which I did not find acceptable firstly because it is the UK you should be allowed to work unless you can speak moderate English, secondly as someone who cannot speak Polish they could be bad-mouthing you in front of your face without you realising and lastly freedom of movement has allowed this to happen as much as European countries hate that tourists from the UK don't attempt to speak the language the difference is if you are a tourist you ability to stay in that country is on a visa which typically lasts less than a month versus attempts of permanent residency in which they may stay in a country their entire lives. ....وسعت 4
