Askari Cement Nizampur: Askari cement Nizampur is located in Nowshera District of Pakistan Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s province. The plant was installed by Army Welfare Trust in 1993 and later acquired by Fauji Foundation in 2013. It comprises of 2 production lines having a combined capacity of 1,575,000 tons per year. Askari Cement has the credit of being the first in the cement industry to acquire ISO 9001 certification. It also now stands as the first to acquire the ISO-14001 Environment friendly standards certification, in Pakistan. Process: Cement manufacturing is a complex process that begins with mining and then grinding raw materials that include limestone and clay, to a fine powder, called raw meal. It is then heated to a sintering temperature as high as 1450 °C in a cement kiln. In this process, the chemical bonds of the raw materials are broken down and then they are recombined into new compounds. The result is called clinker, which are rounded nodules between 1mm and 25mm across. The clinker is ground to a fine powder in a cement mill and mixed with gypsum to create cement.  For dispatch of cement, Askari Cement has recently upgraded its packers with latest and state of the art equipment from Haver & Boecker Germany, ensuring high degree of weight precision for its customers. Presently Askari Cement is undertaking projects to achieve self sufficiency in electrical energy by installing a 10 MW Waste Heat Recovery Power Plant and 12 MW Solar Power plant. With installation of solar power plant, Askari cement will be one of the pioneers of using green and renewable energy sources in cement industry of Pakistan. Activity: The plant has both married as well as bachelor Officers accommodation. Askari Cement limited Nizampur (ACL N) has recently renovated its guest house with exquisite and luxurious furnishings. The plant also boasts facilities for both indoor and outdoor sports, Cricket Ground, Badminton Court, Snooker room as well as modern well equipped gym.
