This comedy series was successful in generations X and Y. And perhaps that made viewers feel admiration and appreciation for the character; for having allowed the public to laugh with the occurrences of Benny Hill Show. This is one of my favorite series. @paulineangelaustria768411 months ago I remember I went to see the Benny Hill Show being recorded with some work colleagues, at Thames Studio in Teddington,in the late 1970's.
I remember Jackie Wright kept getting his line wrong, and after about 6 attempts he finally managed to say it correctly.Benny saw the funny side of it and gave him a clap and the audience a funny look,which they found hilarious. When I saw the show on TV that part just showed Jackie saying his line correctly followed by a loud roar of laughter from the audience.This must have puzzled the viewers who obviously would not be aware of what happened.
Benny seemed a very easy going person to work with.Any mistakes made by the cast were just laughed at.
I have heard from people who often go to watch programmes being recorded, that some "stars" could get very annoyed if anything went wrong.
Unlike Benny who seemed to enjoy such things.Lovely man who made us laugh. ... 2

@dsitsossitihdpai506010 months ago Benny was the typical British comic actor who was always pushing boundaries of what he could get away with and a true comedy icon of British TV, i never missed his show but sadly once political correctness took over he was removed from our screens and never really worked again, his Angels were all gorgeous and never took themselves too seriously despite being fantastic dancers, his shows are timeless and still as funny today as they were back then. ... 2
