Welcome to summertime in Southwoods. Our summer schedule is in full force and that means, early to rise, make beds, start laundry and serve breakfast for those who want it. Then it’s outdoors to water the garden. The marigolds are hardy with a large number of orange and yellow blossoms. The zinnias are gushing with big, colorful, beautiful blooms. It’s time to clean out the refrigerator and ship out those packages that I’ve been putting off. The bathroom drawers and cupboards were in desperate need of some organization. It’s time to purge, clean and organize the stuff. I made a simple sugar cookie recipe and cut out flower shapes to celebrate the summer season. Flowers, one of the many beautiful blessings of summer. A fun shopping trip with Syd. The 4th of July is right around the corner. Pricing outdoor furniture. Clint and I celebrated our 23rd Anniversary. Happy days together add up to wonderful years. Isn’t that the truth. We took a scenic drive to a nearby rural city called Carrollton… Where we took a walk along the 18 mile Greenbelt, the largest paved loop trail system in the state of Georgia. It was a breath of fresh air to see and hear the sounds of children playing baseball again and to see the ducks at Lake Carroll. Then we stopped at IHOP for breakfast. Feast your eyes on this... stuffed french toast! Clint made his favorite apple cake that his grandmother used to make. Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy the rest of your week.
