President Joe Biden directed military forces to conduct defensive precision airstrikes against facilities used by Iran-backed militia groups in the Iraq-Syria border region on Sunday evening, according to a news release from the Department of Defense. CNN's Barbara Starr and Arwa Damon discuss the development.

@
@jdemd19773 years agoIran has few options against the US, and Iraq can really only complain. Hopefully, Iran, Syria and Iraq will realize their only option, if they ever want to take a leap into the 21st Century of advanced nations, they're going to have to behave. Since they could never hope to defeat the US, if they choose to continue bad behavior their future will simply continue to look grim. If they were smart, they would seek to make peace with the US and its allies, and begin to compete (in a positive way) with Saudi Arabia and allow the region to prosper with healthy competition. Iran has so much potential, and I hope to see the day when Iran and the US make peace. ...1
