Today I run through the installation process I took to mount my 120W eBay slimline solar panel to the roof rack (Rhino Roof Rack Pioneer Platform). These panels are extremely thin and are low profile when mounted to the roof, creating a great trade off between power input and versatility. **EDIT - I have realised that I was incorrect in stating that the BCDC chargers both batteries from the solar input. The solar input will ONLY charge the auxiliary battery. Apologies for the mistake** I explain the pro’s, con’s and considerations that need to be accounted for when using fixed roof mounted solar panels and the reasoning behind my decisions.
