Wordpress website fake user sign ups/spam bots using wordpress plugins | wordfence security plugin

recently I have been receiving emails of my WordPress website fake signups and/or spam bots. on checking the same unknown person signing up has the same IP address with a username which is the same differing only with some random numbers. I looked up for a solutions and luckily I got one which involves use of WordPress plugins like advanced google recapthca plugin and wordfence security plugin. tried google Recaptcha but it failed but wordfence worked very well.
