تقع محمية جزر النخيل (أو النخل)، قبالة شاطئ طرابلس وهي محمية لبنانية تاريخية، تبلغ مساحتها 20 هكتار. وتضم منطقة “جزر النخيل” والتي تم تخصيصها كمحمية بموجب إتفاقية برشلونة، ثلاثة جزر هي: النخيل التي تعتبر أكبر مساحةً يليها سنن والفنار. فيما كانت جزيرة «النخيل» تعرف سابقاً باسم جزيرة «الأرانب» نسبة لتواجد الأرانب فيها بأعداد كثيرة. يذكر أنّ محمية جزر النخيل، صنفت ايضاً كمنطقة طيور هامة بموجب إتفاقية حماية حياة الطيور. هي جزيرة كبيرة ومسطحة وخالية من التضاريس البارزة، وتبلغ مساحتها ثمانية عشرة ألف وسبعمائة وستة وتسعين مترا مربعا (18.8كيلومتر مربع)، ويبلغ ارتفاع أعلى نقطة فيها ستة أمتار ما يعادل عشرين قدما، وتحيط بالجزيرة شواطئ صخرية تمتد من الشمال الغربي إلى الجنوب منها، وتمتد الشواطئ الرملية فيها من الجهة الشمالية والشرقية فيها. من بين هذه الجزر توجد جزر محمية النخيل (النخل)، والتي تضم ثلاث جزر رئيسية وهي: جزيرة الفنار، والسنني، والأرانب، وتعتبر هذه المحمية هي محمية جزيرة الأرانب كما كانت تسمى سابقا والتي تعد أكبر الجزر مساحة، وتبلغ مساحتها عشرين هكتارا، وأما جزيرة السنني وتبلغ مساحتها أربعة هكتارات، وجزيرة الفنار أو الرامكين ومساحتها واحد هكتار. Located off the coast of Tripoli, the Palm Islands Reserve (or Al Nakhl) is a historic Lebanese reserve, covering an area of ​​20 hectares. The “Palm Islands” area, which was designated as a reserve under the Barcelona Convention, includes three islands: Al-Nakhil, which has the largest area, followed by Sunan and Al-Fanar. While the island of “palm” was previously known as the island of “rabbits” due to the presence of rabbits in it in large numbers. It is noteworthy that the Palm Islands Reserve was also classified as an important bird area under the Convention for the Protection of Bird Life. It is a large, flat island devoid of prominent terrain. It has an area of ​​eighteen thousand seven hundred and ninety-six square meters (18.8 square kilometres), and its highest point is six meters equivalent to twenty feet. The island is surrounded by rocky shores extending from northwest to south, and extending The sandy beaches are from the north and east side. Among these islands are the Palm Protected Islands (Al Nakhl), which includes three main islands: Al-Fanar Island, Al-Sinani, and Al-Araneb. Al-Sanani has an area of ​​four hectares, and the island of Al-Fanar or Al-Ramkin has an area of ​​one hectare.
