Royal Visit to Burnley 1968

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth paid a visit to Burnley in May 1968 and members of Burnley Cine Club (now Burnley Film Makers) recorded several parts of the Royal visit. The film begins with 'Operation Spring Clean' to clean up the town. Winner of the cleanest street competition was Plover Street, (located off Padiham Road near Gannow Top) where the Queen visited in the morning followed by her attendance at St. Peters Church and finally the newly rebuilt Burnley Central Station. Runtime 23 minutes
