Feet Structure of my White Dorper Rams

White Dorper Sheep have many good traits. However, when the breed was developed, too little attention was paid to feet structure. Worldwide, many good breeders have been trying to improve the feet structure. My five new, now two-year old White Dorper rams from Lewis White Dorpers were particularly selected for good foot structure without sacrificing any of the other excellent traits. In this video you see my rams’ feet that haven’t been cut for about a year. A year ago, just prior to breeding season I cut them back a little. (I didn’t have to, but I did out of habit). I haven’t touched them since. You see how little hoof growth there has been and how correctly they are built. This is particularly impressive since I have deep soils and my sheep do not use up any growth throughout the season.
