Kara Pudina Chutney
Ingredients
Pudina 1 bunch
Oil 1 tbsp
Jeera / cumin 1 tsp
Urad dal 2 tbsp
Garlic 10-15
Onion medium sized 1 , chopped
Tomato 1,small
tamarind 1 small piece
Red chilles 5-7
water 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
For Tempering :-
Oil 1 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida less than 1/4 tsp
Urad dal 1/2 tsp
Few curry leaves
Written Recipe :-
Take a pan , add oil , cumin seeds , garlic , urad dal and fry until urad dal is golden brown..Once the urad dal is golden brown, add onion , red chillies , tamarind and mint leaves..Saute until raw smell goes off.. Finally add Tomato and saute for 2 more minutes or until the tomatoes r soft n mushy... Adding Tomato is optional..If u want , u can add it or skip this step..Once every ingredient is fried , turn off the flame ..Cool completely.. Grind smoothly adding water and salt to taste..
For tempering , once the oil is hot , add mustard seeds , urad dal , Asafoetida and few curry leaves..Fry for a min n Turn off the flame..
Pour the temper to the chutney and mix well...
