PANDAN : Natural vs Extract, Is It That Different | Testing On Indonesian Pandan Pudding

Hey guys, I found myself in a situation where I had both a pandan plant and pandan flavoring. I was curious, how different can it really be? Of course, I had to document it so you can find out, too! PUDDING PANDAN LUMUT RECIPE INGREDIENTS: 🌱 Pandan Leaves 1.5 tsp gelatin 1/4 cup (50 ml) pandan juice 2 tbsp (25 g) sugar 1 cup water 1 egg 1/2 cup coconut milk 1/4 tsp salt 🟢 Pandan Flavoring 1.5 tsp gelatin 2 tbsp (25 g) sugar 1 cup water 1 egg 1/2 cup coconut milk 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pandan extract IN RETROSPECT, choosing a recipe that uses gelatin was not the most straightforward. You really have to experiment with the amount of setting agent (whether gelatin powder, strips, or agar agar) as compared to the liquid ratio. Also, be mindful never to reach a full boil with the setting agent. Please learn from my mistakes! WHERE TO BUY FRESH PANDAN: If you live in the US, I know you can find fresh pandan leaves at your local South East Asian grocery store (they might even have them in South Asian and general Asian stores). They are usually kept in the freezer section, so go ahead and ask! *I'm not sure about other countries, but I imagine it might be a similar situation.
