ENGLISH VERSION In the archive of the city of Dijon there is a manuscript from the end of the 13th century that contains two antiphons to Saint Theobald. Probably the only scores that appear in a Templar rule. The manuscript was stolen from the archive in 1985. Using the only microfilm copy, the musician and popularizer Luis Antonio Muñoz has rebuilt and recorded them so that they can be heard for the first time, after seven centuries. The Temple rule served to organize the operation of the Templar order, taking the monastic rules as a model. Regulated logistical, economic and ritual aspects of the order. With musical quotations, name various psalms and scriptures that were used in ceremonies. We do not keep any manuscripts of the original first Templar rule. The only three copies of the rule are from the 13th and 14th centuries. The first originals of the rule are found in Paris (Mazarin, 780 anc. 7908), Rome (Lincei, Cod. 44 A. 14) and Dijon (Cote D’or Ms. H-11). The Dijon manuscript is the only one with these scores that have been recorded for the first time in history. During the period from 1119 to 1307 in which the order was in force, the original rule went from having 76 initial articles to its final drafting with a total of 686 articles that regulated all aspects of the life of a Templar. Among the possible recipients of this music are: Theobaldo de Vienne (c.927-1001); Theobaldo de Alba or Roggeri (c.1100-1150) or Teobaldo de Marly, died in 1247. The most likely is Theobald of Provins (1033? -1066), "Confessor" in the Acta Sanctorum and revered for his healing miracles. Theobaldo wanted to be a hermit and exercised poverty, refusing weapons. But the images frequently represent him armed and on horseback. Everything indicates that the Templars used their music only in their attendance at the monastic offices and in some rituals. The only flexibility in its monastic obligations occurred in time of war. ANTIPHONE 1 For Saint Theobald It must be interpreted on the first Vespers as Antiphon of the Magnificat. "Holy man Theobaldo, born of noble extirpation, who from an early age decided to reject in life all the riches of this world. Poor man, you followed Christ in his poverty". For the Magnificat (… Seculorum Amen). ANTIPHONE 2 It must be interpreted on the second Vespers as Antiphon of the Magnificat. "O confessor Theobaldo, virtuous medicine, you who heal us from heaven, allow us to achieve the purpose of worshiping virtue in the name of the Holy Spirit". For the Magnificat (… Seculorum Amen).
