RELIGIOUS LEADERS NOW WANTS THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION TO INCORPORATE CHRISTIAN UNIONS MANDATORY

Religious leaders in Kakamega County are urging the Ministry of Education to incorporate Christian unions as mandatory in the current curriculum aiming to promote moral values in society. According to the leaders, many young people have deviated from ethical standards, with some being affected by drugs and issues related to same-sex marriage, largely due to broken families. In their view, a lasting solution can be achieved by reintroducing and making religious associations compulsory for all students. Pastor Alex Miheso, an international leader of the Friends Church in the country, emphasized the importance of national peace and urged leaders to engage in national dialogue to enhance cohesion. These leaders also called upon the government to grant the church the opportunity to self-govern.
