Joe Biden becomes 46th president of the United States (Intermediate level English B1+)

On Wednesday, 20th January, Joe Biden took office as the 46th president of the United States. The President swore the oath of office at the traditional ceremony on the steps of the Capitol. The building had witnessed a violent attack on democracy just weeks before. Biden called for unity as Americans address the challenges they face. He pledged to tackle the pandemic and unemployment, and help the nation heal.
