Ingredients:
1 cup red lentils ( whole masoor daal)
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp chili powder or paprika
Salt to taste
2 medium size red onions ( to be fried for garnishing)
1 cup short grain rice
1 cup vermicelli
Salt to taste
1 ½ cups water
1 cup macaroni
½ cup chickpeas ( boil with tomato and garlic or use canned one)
For the sauce
3 large tomatoes
3 cloves fresh garlic
½ white or yellow onion
( simmer the above for 20mins and then blend)
Green chilies (optional)
Lemon/lime
Salt to taste
Red chili powder/paprika
