This unique little hybrid ring is equal parts 19th and 20th century. The 14k gold Victorian band is engraved "Tillie Bradshaw Nov 4th 1867", it's not entirely clear what the band was used for, it's not a mourning ring, but the dedication is unusual for a wedding band or keepsake. The .35ct transitional cut diamond (inclusions visible to the unaided eye) was added to the band much later, probably in the 1960s or '70s. Best guess as to how this pretty Frankenstein of a ring got made: someone creative came into some family jewelry and decided to improvise. - See more at: https://ericaweiner.com/collections/antique-jewels/products/victorian-band-with-pendent-35ct-diamond#sthash.I1DHmtLG.dpuf
