Trailer/Teaser for new film "Beyond Noh".. Official World Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival 2020. "Beyond Noh" rhythmically animates 3,475 individual masks from all over the world, beginning with the distinctive masks of the Japanese Noh theater and continuing on a cultural journey through ritual, utility, deviance, and politics. “ビヨンド能” 日本独特の伝統芸能である能楽の能面をはじめ3,475の世界中のお面を通して見れる各国の文化や儀式また逸脱した世界観、政治的観念をリズミカルに描いた作品です Director Bio: Patrick Smith is known for his metaphorical hand drawn short films, as well as his experimental stop motion films. His formative years were spent as a storyboard artist for Walt Disney, and animation director for MTV. Smith is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and a fellow of the New York Foundation of the Arts. Looks kind of like an Asian fetishistic id="hidden6" class="buttons"> obsession with Japanese women/culture, the rest of the masks from other cultures or subcultures can hold equal importance. It would be interesting how this film would read had he started with a different kind of mask. What it starts with can really change the viewing experience for the rest of the film. ....وسعت 1
