Ingredients
· Fish - ½ kg singara fish fillets
· Tomatoes – 1 cup diced
· Onions – 1 cup diced
· Garlic paste – 1 Tsp
· Ginger paste – 1 Tsp
· Tomato puree – 200 gm [tetra pack]
· Juice of 1 Lemon
Masalas
Cinnamon Powder – ½ Tsp
Jeera/Cumin Powder – 1 Tsp
Garam Masala Powder – ½ Tsp
Dhania/Coriander powder – 2 & ½ Tsp
Amchur Powder – ½ Tsp
Haldi/Turmeric Powder – 1 Tsp
Sambhar Powder – 1 Tsp
Sugar – 1 Heaped Tbsp
Mustard Oil – 4-5 Tbs
Salt and pepper to taste
Method
Step 1 - Cut the fish filet into desired pieces and rub turmeric, salt and pepper. Let it marinate.
Step 2 – Take a wok, heat mustard oil.
Step 3 - In hot oil, add the onions & saute for 5 mins. Add ginger 'n' garlic paste and saute for a couple of minutes.
Step 4 – After 6-7 minutes, add the chopped tomatoes. Keep stirring.
Step 5 - When the tomatoes get cooked, add all the powder masalas/spices, sugar and the tomato puree. Stir properly, cook on medium heat. Add 2 cups of water, stir and bring it to boil and let it simmer.
Step 6 - After 10 mins add the marinated fish in the simmering curry. Cover and cook for 10 more mins on medium flame. Fish is now ready.
Step 7 – Garnish with fresh coriander and serve with rice or lachha parantha.
